Professor Ding Ning, Vice Dean of the College of Arts, Peking University, is Co-Investigator of Digital Cultural Heritage.
Joshua Seufert, the University of Oxford’s HD Chung Chinese Studies Librarian at the Bodleian Libraries, visited China 14-21 May. He met Professor Ding Ning, the project’s Foreign Co-Investigator, and Vice Dean of the Faculty of Arts at Peking University.. He also met Professor Xiang Yong, another Vice Dean of the Faculty of Arts at Peking University and Vice Director of its Institute of Cultural Industries (http://web5.pku.edu.cn/artpku/Academic/Faculty/6293.htm), and Professor Cao Hong Curator of the Arthur M. Sackler Museum of Art and Archaeology at Peking University. In addition he met the Deputy Director Huang Chen and Dr. Xu Haiyan of Zhejiang University Library and the China Academic Digital Associative Library CADAL, Prof Liu Hongzhe and Dr. Liang Ye of the Institute of Information Technology of Beijing Union University and the Beijing Key Laboratory of Information Service Engineering. Although Professor Wang Xiaoguang of the School of Information Management and the Center for Digital Humanities of Wuhan University was in the United States at the time they exchanged emails and discussed Professor Xiaoguang’s visit to Oxford in the autumn. Wuhan is the only mainland Chinese member of the international network of Digital Humanities centres (see: http://digitalhumanities.org/centernet/about/).
